Embracing Contraries
An excellent book on learning and writing that might directly address Mr. Kvalvik's notion of Sfumoni (ital?)
Jun 7 Minutes
Thanks to Mr. Sisson for setting this up!
I made a few notes of things as people said things such as "I'll try to remember that"
Mr. Kvalvik mentioned the upcoming ISTE conference in Atlanta Jun 24-27: NECC
There was some discussion of TED, a remarkable conference now providing many of their talks online. It seems to resonate with the vibe of this group.
The Perception site seems not so functional at the moment, but I'm sure the Torrent is a boat worth researching.
Corbis is one of many sites offering images. I'll need to summon a list of alternatives. Corbis tends to be quite expensive, but when you are not paying that seems moot.
Looks like the Thursday for our next gathering is June 28th. I can't wait. <-- spam warning.

Welcome to Some Unusual Suspects

I guess you could call last night’s dinner at the Usual Suspects our kick-off for the group. Kevin K’s email invitation called it the “big night.” Sounds like we are going to meet every couple of weeks to talk about … “smart stuff” (I’ll let Kevin K. describe the rules!) I’m not sure how smart the conversation was last night but I really enjoyed the ability to talk openly about happiness, education and technology.
The book that I’m reading right now is Stumbling on Happiness by Daniel Gilbert
Not the pursuit if happiness, which was a over acted movie with a horrible message about getting rich to be happy.
